Trinity

Definition

“The ‘trinity’ is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion—the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another.”—Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. XV, pg. 47.

“In this one God there are three distinct Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, who are perfectly equal to each other. We believe that Jesus Christ … He is God of the substance of the Father.”—The Faith of Our Fathers, by Cardinal Gibbons, pg. 1.

A false, unbiblical doctrine.

Origin

Ancient Babylonish paganism c.2200 B.C. Brought into the deflected “Christian church” about the second century, being especially established in the Nicene Creed, A.D. 325. (See McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopaedia, under “Trinity”; The Two Babylons, pg. 16, 17.)
